Wadler’s own worst flight was through Hurricane Ian, in 2022—a trip famous for its furious lurches from side to side. But that flight came in second on his list. It pulled out of the dive and climbed back into the eye of the storm. Then it circled there for about an hour before an Air Force plane escorted it through a soft spot in the eye wall.
